Gabby Rodriguez's Presentation
Live Oak High School grodriguez@lousd.k12.ca.us
Language, Gender and Culture-
ERWC Module (a few selected lessons) which challenges students to explore and question the norms they have been raised with, exposed to and have adopted in many different areas of their lives. Video excerpt to Amamanda Adichie's TedTalk: "The Danger of a Single Story" link embedded in presentation.
Nicole's Presentation: The Power of Pie: Interpreting and Analyzing Data This assignment helps students write a report using their own research. It includes analyzing survey results, making rhetorical decisions to present the data visually and in writing, and drawing conclusions. I've included the Ppt, the assignment sheet (although I think it would be super cool to use charts in another context), and the genre planning sheet. Email if you have questions! lagraveni@butte.edu

Storify is a great platform for composing multimodal digital texts. Storify allows you to import images, videos, texts and social media posts from a variety of platforms. I have used Storify in the composition classroom as a public presentation platform, and as a space for students to analyze andreflect on sources they have collected throughout the composition process. During SI I thought it would be particularly interesting to use the platform to reflect on an area of inquiry we have been learning about during SI. Here is a link to Nicole LaGrave's Storify she composed during SI. https://storify.com/lagraveni/is-it-bad-to-struggle-in-school
Lisa Bond's Presentation: TPCASTT Poetry Analysis and Storyboardthat.com This assignment is focused on helping students learn how to analyze poetry through the TPCASTT format as well as present out their findings through storyboardthat.com. Email, call, or text if you have any questions!
Lisa Kekaha's Presentation: The American Dream This unit helps students identify purposes, develop awareness of audience needs, and make appropriate choices. I've included presentation ppt, assignment sheet, rubric, genre planning sheet, and some of our class texts. Lisa's presentation blendspace

Chase and Petar's Presentation: The Age of Responsibility and Moving Away from an Essay-centric Curriculum.
We examined a unit adapted from the ERWC unit on the Age of Responsibility. Our aim was to look at better ways to work with argument and working with sources, while moving away from essay writing for the culminating assessment.
Sarah K Presentation These materials are my protocols and reflections on peer review for student writing. I have included a PowerPoint on my struggles with this process, a protocol that my students use on peer review day, and a reflective cover memo prompt for reflecting on the revision process prior to turning in a final draft.
Jamie Mora's Presentation: Autobiography
This unit encourages students to build confidence by writing about what they know through personal experiences and identify goals for their future as they write an autobiography.

Tara Wiglesworth's Presentation: The One Pager
Oroville City Unified Elementary District -- Special Education tmwigles@gmail.com
For my presentation I used a unit that was centered around reading an article from NewsELA about Whales and Dolphins needing larger tanks while being in captivity. We read the article and discussed it prior to watching videos from other sources about this issue. The unit ended with the students writing an opinion piece to determine if they were for or against keeping whales and dolphins in captivity.
